PEDA structure modified

Commissioner Gene Valentino may offer a new structure for his proposed Pensacola Economic Development Authority when he appears before the PEDC this morning.

We received a copy of the new structure which calls for PEDA board nominations to be made by various groups: Pensacola, County, Century, DIB, CRA, UWF, PJC, PSA, PYP, Area Chambers, Public and others.

A Selection Committee then chooses 15 board members that will represent the following interests: Military, Education, Minority, Tourism and private sector interests such as hospitality, healthcare, real estate, wholesalers.distributors, technology, insurance, banking/finance and the others.

Who is on the selection committee? I don’t know. We may learn that today.
