Pensacola Fire Expensive

According to US Census, Pensacola has a population, as of July 2006, of 53,248. Port Orange has 54,851. Margate has 55,974. Sarasota has 52,942.

Pensacola has 138 employees in its fire department with at total budget $11.628 million – which will increase to nearly $12 million if the council approves the new collective bargaining agreement.

Port Orange has 68 employees in its fire department with at total budget $7.8 million. It has no Fire Captains.

Margate has 111 employees in its fire department with at total budget $9.03 million.

Sarasota doesn’t have a fire department. The county provides fire service to the city.
