Beggs & Lane RLLP has announced that Ralph A. Peterson, senior partner in the law firm’s Labor and Employment Group, has been elected as a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Election as a Fellow in the College is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication, and excellence.

“Ralph has been an outstanding leader in the labor and employment law community for over 32 years. He has demonstrated that same professionalism and integrity when representing our clients and in his service to our local communities,” said J. Nixon Daniel, III, managing partner of the firm. “This recognition by his peers is very well-deserved.”

Peterson is a Florida Bar Certified labor and employment specialist who becomes only the 45th attorney from Florida to be invited into the College since it was established in 1995. With the installation of the 2014 Fellows scheduled for November, the College is represented by more than thirteen hundred members in forty-five states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and eight provinces in Canada.

Peterson has extensive litigation experience representing management in trials and appeals in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. His practice also includes representing employers as a negotiator and advocate in labor law proceedings. Peterson is a past president of the Academy of Florida Management Attorneys. He also serves as a charter member of the Management Labor & Employment Roundtable (MLER), a national association of labor and employment lawyers recognized for their experience, expertise, and professionalism.
