PNJ story on ECUA was incredible

People are really scratching their heads over yesterday’s PNJ story on ECUA dropping its lawsuit against Escambia County over mandatory use of the landfill. The daily newspaper made it look like ECUA is a champion of curbside recycling and the withdrawal of the suit is somehow proof.

What we know is that the suit had no chance of being successful. It was another political move by ECUA to try and force the county to relent. ECUA never notified the county that it was dropping the suit. The county had actually paid to fly in expert witnesses for the hearing.

So ECUA cost us all money. PNJ loves them. I don’t – but at least Larry Walker showed up for the board meeting.
