Poll: McMillan extends lead in D2 race

Alan McMillan has extended his lead against incumbent Escambia County Commissioner Doug Underhill, according to the poll conducted last week of 452 likely Republican District 2 voters. McMillan garnered 46 percent to Underhill’s 33.8 percent with 20.1 percent still uncertain who will get get their vote on Aug. 28.

McMillan has outspent Underhill, $81,168-$27,214, and picked up 15.5 percentage points since the June 19 poll conducted by the Political Matrix.

The persons sampled were likely voters of District 2 Republican primaries in Escambia County. They were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system during the hours of 2-8 p.m. July 26-28. The phone numbers called were provided by Escambia Supervisor of Elections Office. The Margin of Error for this study is +/- 4.5% with a confidence level of 95%.
