Poll: Voters are not satisfied with how schools prep students

In an InWeekly/Political Matrix poll of 643 likely Escambia County voters, we found only one out of three voters was satisfied how the county’s public schools were preparing students for higher education or the workforce.

This may explain why only 35 percent of the voters between the ages of 22-64 believed Superintendent Malcolm Thomas should be considered for appointment as superintendent.

That same age group had 54.4 percent say they weren’t satisfied with how the district prepared its students for the next step in life.
