Red Cross Month

In March, you might be thinking green because St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and then before you know it, it’s Earth Day in April. But it’s time to start seeing red.

March is Red Cross Month and there’s no better way to acknowledge it than supporting the local Red Cross through local businesses. Throughout the month of March, The Cutting Board Restaurant in Pace will donate $2 every time you purchase a Red Cross special menu item. On Friday, March 3, join the Blues Angel Music Group for their grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. where raffle tickets for a guitar valued at $5000 will benefit the Red Cross.

The local American Red Cross responded to more than 250 house fires and assisted almost 800 family members last year. A 25 percent increase from the previous year according to CEO of American Red Cross of Northwest Florida, Jerry Kindle.

The Red Cross relies on donations of time, money and blood to do its work. The local Red Cross serves Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. You can donate at yourredcross.org or call 432-7601. You can also mail donations to 222 N. Baylen St.
