Sam I Am The President

Pensacola City Council members voted for their new leadership on tiny, folded ballots this morning. Let’s throw their cards on the table.

Councilman Sam Hall beat out Councilman John Jerralds in a 5-4 split. The VP seat went to Councilman Ronald Townsend after Jerralds and Councilman P.C. Wu withdrew their names from the race.

Hall was voted in by Council members Brian Spencer, Larry Johnson, Megan Pratt, Townsend and himself. Votes were cast for Jerralds by himself, Wu, Councilwoman Sherri Myers, and former Council President Maren DeWeese.

Myers didn’t seem pleased as the meeting ended. She said to “read her eyes” and threw a cold glare.

“This was very well orchestrated,” Myers said. “They should be celebrating up on the seventh floor.”
