Santorum, Paul have little chance in Florida

Papers across the state are reporting that GOP presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Ron Paul are pulling back on their efforts in Florida. Both will be at tonight’s debate, but neither has the cash to win the Jan. 31 primary.

Santorum’s team has confirmed their candidate will be at New World Landing today at noon. The focus seems to be fundraising for primaries elsewhere. AP reports that he doesn’t plan any advertising in Florida. Instead, Santorum will place his hopes on building on his caucus victory in Iowa and try to pull off wins in the Midwest– Missouri and Minnesota.

Paul has only come to Florida for the debates. He appears to be building a foundation for his son Rand to run in 2016.
