School District administrators among highest paid in Florida

While school grades have been declining in the Escambia County School District, district administrators are some of the highest paid in the state of Florida, according to the 2016-17 Final Salary Survey on the Florida Department of Education website.

The statewide average salary for a deputy, assistant or associate superintendent is $126,764. Escambia County has only one deputy. His salary is $140,080. Only Broward ($178,580), Collier ($161,315) and Hillsborough ($151,259) have higher average salaries for this position.

Five other district administrative categories are above the state average and rank from 3 to 12 among the state’s 67 school districts.

None of the salary averages for principals is above the state average.
