School violence escalates

NorthEscambia.com is reporting at fight broke out yesterday at Ernest Ward. Seven students were arrested (read more).

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the fight started about 3:50 p.m. as school was dismissed. The fight began between two students on a bus and escalated into an affray in the parking lot involving a small number of students. Several school staff members and bus drivers tried to stop the fight, and several of them were struck by students.

We have also heard that several fights occurred on Wednesday at Woodham Middle School and, at least, several staff members were assaulted.

A few weeks ago a student was arrested at Warrington Middle School.
