Gov. Rick Scott is visiting Northwest Florida today.
At 8:30 a.m. in Panama City, he is expected to announce the appointment of former lawmaker Jimmy Patronis as the state’s new chief financial officer. Jeff Atwater is leaving the CFO job on Friday to take a position at Florida Atlantic University. Patronis, R-Panama City, most recently has served on the Florida Public Service Commission.
Gov. Scott will hold a press conference in Pensacola at 10:45 a.m. at the Wayside Park at the foot of the Pensacola Bay Bridge.
