Sheriff’s Office looks for leads on 1975 cold case: Reynold homicide

Thirty-six years ago, on the Sunday morning of September 14, 1975 the body of forty-two year old black male Walter McReynold was found in his home in the 7700 block of Kershaw Street of the Lincoln Park community west of North Pensacola Boulevard and north of West Hope Drive. Investigation found that Walter McReynold was a Victim of Murder.

This case has not yet been solved, and the person or persons responsible for the Murder of Walter McReynold have not yet been identified. If anyone has any information at all regarding what might have happened to Walter McReynold, or if anyone was familiar with Walter McReynold during the time frame leading up to September 14, 1975, please contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit at 850.436.9580, or Crime Stoppers at 433.STOP(7867).
