Suter not closing

Got a phone call from Asst. Superintendent Ronnie Arnold.

“There isn’t any plan to close Suter Elementary in the foreseeable future.”  Arnold said it was part of the Watson study that had several closings over a 12-year period, but Semmes was on the list to be closed, too.

“We’ve got our hands full with the new consolidated middle school at Woodham and building a new school in downtown Pensacola. Closing Suter isn’t anywhere on our radar screen.”

“I think there are some self-interested people that are trying to fan the flames for a charter school.”
