As we reported yesterday, BP is paying for the Sertoma fireworks on the Fourth of July. I am probably the only one who sees the irony in a British company paying for a fireworks display that celebrates our independence from Great Britain.
We’ve learned that Pensacola isn’t the only city that is getting donations from BP for fireworks. BP is also picking up the tab for Durango Fireworks (read article.) And even though Durango is in Colorado, BP spokesman ties it to Gulf disaster.
So BP can’t afford skimmers for Escambia County, but will fund fireworks in Colorado?
