The blocking and tackling wins campaigns

Vote2014
The News-Press got this great quote on the Florida governor’s race, which I think applies to all elections:

“For all the money spent on this race, it now appears the winner will be the one whose organization excels at the blocking and tackling of politics — getting their voters to the polls,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the independent Quinnipiac University Poll.

Locally, the successful candidates talk about their “ground game” – knocking on doors, waving on corners and manning the precincts on election day. Successful campaigns are team efforts.
