Thomas asks for waiver

“It’s a little disheartening that he wants to negotiate after we made a deal,” Escambia County chairman Kevin White said of Superintendent Malcolm Thomas when discussing whether to waive rental fees at the Pensacola Civic Center for Escambia County Public School District.

Grover Robinson brought the issue up because of an earlier agreement with the county to put a ECSO substation on Warrington property owned by the District. Superintendent Thomas sent the following letter on Oct. 25 asking for a waiver of $5000 rental fee for the civic center and $2000 for the parking lot.

Right now it doesn’t appear the motion will pass at tonight’s meeting.
