Town Hall meeting on Bayou Chico dredging

meeting
Emeraldcoastkeeper Laurie Murphy is hosting a meeting to discuss the proposed dredging of Bayou Chico.

“As you know, there is currently a very controversial and heavily debated dredging issue on Bayou Chico,” wrote Murphy. “After evaluating the debate on both sides, I have decided to moderate a meeting with the BCA (Bayou Chico Association), Doug Underhill, and a few selected scientists in the area to help our community decide on the best and safest way to dispose of the contaminated sediments.”

She said, “I am not in this to take sides. My interest is to strictly enforce the Clean Water Act and any solution that would adhere to that.”

The meeting will take at the downtown public library on Spring Street on Wednesday, 12/16 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
