NorthEscambia.com reports that Urban Development Center (UDC) has paid another $20,000 on its loan from the Town of Century. However, finding proof of the payment has been complicated.
UDC CEO Jessica Griffen announced the payment to the Century Town Council in a phone call during its last meeting. A year ago, UDC borrowed $61,925 from the financially struggling town as seed money for the YouthFirst Century program until the Escambia County Children’s Trust’s grant monies were received.
We were told UDC made a $20,000 payment last year, but the town clerk provided no proof of the deposit. There is no paperwork on the actual loan, either than council minutes.
Escambia County Children’s Trust cut off funding for YouthFirst Century in December after records showed it was only serving 30 middle and high school students.

If Century doesn’t even turn in an audit to the FL Auditor General as required by law, I doubt they feel they have provide accountability to William Reynolds.
If they can ignore States Atn Grand Jury recommendations from 2017 or the FL Senator’s direction at the delegation meeting, why wouldn’t they think they can just pass out money at wiil.
Maybe there is no check, just lip service and sound bites because there is no accountability.
