Unbelievable report from BP subcontractor

County staff reported today that the BP clean-up contractor is reporting that 99 percent of the workers on Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key are residents from Escambia Count, as per the Unified Command Center. Privately, they admit that they don’t believe that statistic.

County staff also reported that it doesn’t believe the near-shore clean-up efforts are satisfactory or done consistent as the efforts in Alabama.

We’ve also gotten a report that six Miami workers were recently fired – they were allegedly undocumented immigrants – which is consistent with earlier reports I’ve received.

Once again, BP isn’t living up to its commitments.
