Visit Pensacola draft bylaws. Group will be like a mini-chamber

tourists300x
Last week the Escambia Board of County Commissioners were given the latest draft of the bylaws of Visit Pensacola, Inc. — corporation proposed by the hotel industry to control the bed tax dollars earmarked for tourism promotion (between $5-$6 million annually). The draft isn’t online yet so we asked for a copy to post to the blog.

Visit Pensacola will be a Section 501(c)(6) corporation –the same classification used by chambers and NFL. The board structure is different, adding three at-large members. All members are selected by the board and its member organizations. Diversity is addressed with this clause: “The Board shall be required to represent Escambia County by race, gender and geography.”
