Who are my sources?

The Buzz in and out of the county courthouse and around dinner tables and bars is– who are my sources on the Billings case?

I’m not telling…but let me say this. I have lived here for nearly 30 years, the last 10 publishing a newspaper that built its reputation on being fearless and aggressive in covering stories that others wouldn’t or couldn’t cover.

Over my three decades here I have built friendships and relationships in all areas of the community. People tell me things. They trust me with information that even their pastors or significant others might not know. These sources come in all shapes, ages, colors and sizes.

National media can invest more in their camera crews for one day in Pensacola than my ad revenue for a week, maybe even a month. But we know this community and this community knows and trusts us.
