The two firms that have been doing the My Safe Florida home inspections in the area have been dropped by the state, according to a report in the Northwest Florida Daily News.

The auditors graded Thomas Enterprising an “F” for its record keeping. They also found the company didn’t meet reinspections goals. Auditors found needed documents missing from the files of Ameripro. Also there were reports one Ameripro employee had threatened to put liens on some homeowners’ properties.

My Safe Florida Home provides free wind-storm inspections so Floridians could take steps to protect their homes against hurricane damage. Insurance companies are obligated to lower homeowners’ rates for customers providing proof of the inspections.

Skye Tec, a Jacksonville-based company, will inspect homes in Northwest Florida for My Safe Florida Home after Nov. 30.
