Midway pity party in third week

scream
The Midway Fire Board and its administration just don’t get it. All we have read since the Jan. 29 smackdown vote is how they are laying off people and cutting fire protection services. (Midway Fire District could cut 6 more jobs )

The Board has yet to issue a positive statement on how it will meet its responsibilities because their referendum didn’t pass. Surely they had a plan…or did they? We they are doing now is scaring people.

Remember Amendment 1 doesn’t become effective until Oct. 1, 2008.

Why the immediate layoffs? Did they need the huge revenue increase the new tax would have created to keep all those employees and provide their non-fire protection services?

Something is amiss in the Midway Fire District. We will requesting copies of their interim financials for Oct 2007 to Jan 2008 and their audited financial reports for the year ended Sept. 30, 2007.
