Escambia BCC considers downtown trolley pilot program

The Studers have asked for the Escambia Board of County Commissioners to consider a downtown trolley service that will run as a pilot program from Nov. 3 through Dec. 31, 2016. The interlocal agreement will be between the County and Downtown Improvement Board.

The private sector, primarily the Studers, will be pay for pilot program.

Proposed Daytime Route: ï‚— Daily
10 a.m. ‐ 2 p.m.  Every 15 minutes
ï‚—
Proposed Nighttime Route: ï‚— Thurs, Fri, Sat
5 p.m. ‐ 10 p.m. Every 30 minutes

The DIB will review the plan later this month. If the DIB approves it on Oct. 18, an interlocal agreement on the trolley service will be brought back to the BCC on Oct. 20.
