County hospitalizations hit record high

The Escambia County COVID-19 Dashboard reports the county has 291 hospitalizations – a new daily record. The dashboard reports the most recent weekly positivity rate is 19%.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced an expansion of the program to provide COVID-19 vaccines at Publix grocery stores in Northwest Florida startingÂ Thursday, Jan. 14 for adults 65 and older. Publix has started taking appointments atÂ publix.com/covid-vaccine.Â Each Publix location can administer between 120 and 125 shots per day.
