Escambia County to Receive Due Funds from Hurricane Ivan

On Tuesday, May 20, Escambia County Commission Chairman Lumon May addressed a letter to Florida Governor Rick Scott asking for additional financial relief related to Hurricane Ivan, which struck the County in September 2004 causing approximately $226 million in damages.

Late Friday evening, Escambia County received notification that it will receive a payment from the Florida Division of Emergency Management for approximately $3,200,000 to $4,200,000 within the next week. These owed funds will assist with further relief efforts from the flooding event of April 29.
