Escambia COVID-19 cases far from flattening

According to latest DOH dashboard (10 a.m. April 7), Escambia County has reported 29 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours –24 since 6 p.m. yesterday. As we reported this morning, the county has another COVID-19-related death. Statewide, we now have 14,504 cases and 283 deaths.

Hospitalizations locally have increased. Escambia County now has 7 COVID-19 cases involving residents or staff of long-term care facilities – which is in line with what Inweekly reported Sunday.
