Escambia COVID update

Over the first five days of December, FDOH reported Escambia County had 10 COVID deaths, only two associated with nursing homes. Of the 7,558 tests results reported, 8.48% were positive – 641 new cases from Dec. 1-5.

The number of test reported (7,558) is up considerably when compared to the first five days of any other month of 2020:

Nov 1-5: 5,097 tests

Oct 1-5: 4,388

Sept 1-5: 4,981

Aug 1-5: 5,926

Jul 1-5: 5,566

June 1-5: 1,786

 

YTD, Escambia County has 316 COVID-related deaths – only cancer and heart disease have caused more deaths. The county has 15,686 cases among Florida residents
