Former commissioner appointed to Speaker staff

Former Escambia County Commissioner Janice Gilley has been appointed the Deputy Chief of Staff for incoming Florida Speaker of the House Ray Sansom. Gilley was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush in 2002 to complete the term of Terry Smith who was removed from office after being indicted for Sunshine Law violations. Gilley represented District 5 until 2004.
