Pensacola Children’s Chorus to hold new member auditions at Zion Hope, Aug. 13

The Pensacola Children’s Chorus will be holding new member auditions on Wednesday, August 13, 4:30-6:30 pm at Zion Hope Baptist Church, 201 W. Leonard Street for rising 4th–12th grade students. Auditions are informal and require no preparation whatsoever. Financial assistance is available for qualifying members.

Joining this non-profit, community-based arts education program is the perfect opportunity to cultivate your child’s personal growth, friendship, and community service. There are more than 300 Chorus members from northwest Florida which represent 62 area public, private and home schools. The Pensacola Children’s Chorus is comprised of seven choirs: Choristers (who are auditioned in January), Festival Alleluia, Festival Jubilate, Concert Choir, Ensemble, Echo, and the Young Singers of Pensacola. The Chorus produces three major performances each year: Christmas on the Coast, One World, Many Voices, and Showtime.

The Pensacola Children’s Chorus is led by Founding Artistic Directors Allen and Susan Pote, who founded the Chorus as an outreach project of the Pensacola Symphony. The mission of the Pensacola Children’s Chorus it to provide quality music education and performances to include both traditional, classical, choral training and musical theater to enrich the lives of children from all religious, racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
