Alystock Witkin partner Sam Geisler discussed the latest developments in the Skanska lawsuit yesterday on NewsTalk 1370 WCOA.
“We were supposed to have a trial this week,” said Geisler. “Skanska’s lead council is in New Orleans. They got a continuance, but they were required to make some filings that were due. And I mean, we were as shocked as perhaps the court was that Skanska just didn’t, straight up didn’t make those pretrial filings and really escaped quite severe sanctions.”
He added, “I think that’s very likely because this court wants to see this case tried on the merits with the facts, but Judge Collier made very clear – he will not tolerate any more kind of delays or forgetfulness or whatever it is, the rules do apply to Skanska just like they do to everybody else.”
