Road Camp scare does not lead to more testing

Inweekly reported this morning that Escambia County Corrections suspended its inmate road crews after an inmate tested positive for COVID-19.

Apparently the new case didn’t lead to more prisoners being tested at the road. On Friday, the county reported a total 236 Escambia County inmates had been tested. This afternoon, the county reported the year-to-date total increased by one to 237.

According to the report, the one infected at the road camp is the only inmate with the virus throughout the corrections system.
