People have asked about the tall wooden pole that suddenly appeared on Baylen Street near the county’s parking garage. We’ve jokingly called it downtown’s latest tourist attractive – the tallest telephone in Florida.
Apparently, we weren’t far off.
According to City of Pensacola PIO Vernon Stewart, it’s an AT&T utility pole that the City Engineering permitted.
Currently, city officials are working with the carrier to have the pole relocated.
