Escambia County has another COVID-19 death

According to the DOH Dashboard for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, Escambia County had another COVID-19 death, bringing total to three.  The county now has 18 cases among residents or staff of local long-term care facilities—up another three cases in the last seven hours.

The state has 15,698 cases and 323 deaths.

Over the past 24 hours, Escambia County had 14 more cases, total 182.

BTW, Brevard County, home to the City of Cocoa Beach, only has 105 cases. According to DOH, Cocoa only has eight cases.  Hmmm, it seems comparing Escambia County with Cocoa Beach might not be a fair comparison to use as evidence to reopen the beaches, Ms. Gilley.  -:)

Testing Chart
It’s disappointing to see the testing dropped yesterday. The hospital testing was the lowest since March 29.
Our containment strategy depends on more testing.
