Surprise, Chamber supports economic development and tourism

Today, the Greater Pensacola Chamber announced its support for the continued funding of Enterprise Florida, the Small Business Development Center Network and VISIT FLORIDA.

“The Greater Pensacola Chamber strongly believes the state must continue to fund initiatives that support diversifying our economy and attract businesses and jobs to Florida,” stated Todd Thomson, Vice President of Public Affairs for the Chamber. “We have unique challenges in Northwest Florida and believe that the elimination of these programs would dramatically hinder future progress in our region.”

The Greater Pensacola Chamber is encouraged by the announcement that the Florida House of Representatives will now fund VISIT FLORIDA with at least $25 million this year. The Chamber hopes that there is similar movement on the economic development bill that is currently working its way through the House.
